We always called Lennon our muffin- sure that will embarrass him at some point down the road... We have been calling Loie our mini muffin! It's silly, I know
We are trying to get mini muffin to be a regular sized muffin. I feel like a "pusher" with her milk. I'm like, "ah, come on, you can finish this bottle! What's 5 more MLs?" I sometimes wake her up just to see if she'd like to eat. (Only if it's been 3 hours minimum!, I'm not THAT crazy). We want her to gain and gain!
Pulmonology went well. She looks fantastic and is in good shape! However, he wants to keep her on the O2 until she gains significant weight. She may be exerting too much to keep her sats up high, and her precious calories are going to that instead of to weight gain. Makes sense! So we are being diligent and upping her oxygen support during feeds and as needed if she looks winded. We will have to live with the cumbersome cylinders and oximeters for a while longer!
Lennon is babbling more and more each day. Honestly, his babbling sounds more like he is imitating Vietnamese than English sometimes... he also does a great Jabba the Hut impression!
He loves to color with his sidewalk chalk on the driveway. The ground is filled with little splashes of color here and there. Toddler sized graffiti distributed around the front yard. Makes me smile!
He also ate his first ever chicken nugget!!! We had to smear it with peanut butter, but hey, it worked!! Such a special kid :)
We will continue to plug along with checkups and therapies. Loie slept through her last OT appointnent.. that's not how this works, Loie... but she is doing well! Might start taping her little legs as her feet turn in quite a bit when at rest. Nothing too notable, just maybe a little tightness. Early intervention is key! And we are early indeed.
Though things are going well, we are quite the worse for wear with our stress levels. Though it may not be apparent on the surface, we are on edge and frankly, a tad o overwhelmed. It's evidenced by TWO of our cats needed vet visits in the last week. They are picking up on our stress levels and getting sick from their stress levels. :/ it's a big mess. I know it will all even out at some point. ...right?
Anyway, our muffins are both fast asleep. One is way easier to get to sleep than the other... can you guess which one??
Night night!
